What happens after I've placed an order?

1. What happens first?

1. When you place an order you will always receive an automated email advising your order is ''RECEIVED" - our system's way of telling you it's been received.

2. Then what?

2.1 When the order is picked up by 'real people' in The Bowls Shop, you will receive a second email stating that your order is "PROCEEDING". That means we will be attending to it, but normally we can only pick up orders placed between the hours of 9.00am. to 3.00pm. Monday to Friday. This is so that we can meet the deadlines for the Monday to Friday Royal Mail and Courier collection services.

2.2 In by far the majority of cases orders are dispatched within a few working days, often the same or next working day. However, where both ourselves and the supplier are out of stock of a particular item then we are in the hands of the supplier, and in those instances re-stocking times are often unpredicatable and vary quite considerably between suppliers. With orders for Lawn Bowls in particular we attempt on our website to provide an approximate period after which delivery may be expected. 

2.3 To make sure you see any emails from us please check the Spam/Junk mail boxes in your email client (for example, Outlook, Windows Mail, Thunderbird etc.) as mail from senders not recognised by your ISP frequently ends up there.

2.4 Please take note of any comments on the website that indicate your order may take longer than the norm. This is more likely with some orders for Bowls - see 2.2 above.  

2.5 Please also note that we are not open Saturday afternoons, Sundays or Bank Holidays. In addition, our Courier Service does not deliver at the weekends or Bank Holidays.

3. And finally?

3.1 Finally, when your order is "COMPLETE" (i.e. 'Shipped') you will receive an email letting you know it's gone - either by Royal Mail or Courier. Again, please check the Spam/Junk mail boxes in your email client (for example, Outlook, Windows Mail, Thunderbird etc.) as mail from senders not recognised by your ISP frequently ends up there.

There are no stages between "Procesing" and "Complete" that can be tracked in an account - if you have a Bowls Shop account. We simply pick, pack and send all from our shop as fast as we can, assuming of course we have the item(s) in stock - see 2.2 above. 

3.2 The size and/or weight of the order will determine how it is Shipped - Royal Mail or Courier. If you have supplied an email address and/or mobile telephone number both services will provide details so that you may track delivery.
